The FLOWER Project (School-Based Psychoeducation & Technology)

The FLOWER Project — Flourish and Learned Optimism: Ways to Embrace the Rides — is Hong Kong's first technology-driven psychoeducation programme promoting holistic wellness and mental health.

We work with secondary schools to help students build three things that research shows matter most for long-term wellbeing hence suicide prevention:

  • Resilience to bounce back from setbacks;

  • A clear sense of identity and personal goals;

  • Empathy to support the people around them.

What we offer:

1. Online mental health gaming platform (Individual and school log-in)

An evidence-based, youth co-produced online mental health gaming platform with individual student logins, using AI, VR, and web-based games to teach mental health skills and support student wellbeing. We assess the school’s needs through validated questionnaires and gameplay on our platform.

2. In-person workshops and Mental Health Carnivals

Workshops and booths to deliver psychoeducation interventions based on resilience, identity formation/ goal setting, and prosociality. We often host themed mental health carnival with a series of booths with interactive activities that help students understand emotions, manage stress, and support one another in a positive way.

3. World Health Organisation EASE workshop for parents

A half-day evidence-based workshop adapted from the World Health Organisation Early Adolescent Skills for Emotions (EASE) for busy parents to learn key skills to support their children

4. AI Reports for schools

Our platform generates dedicated reports for schools based on the students’ needs as a whole (for schools) before, midway, and after the programme. This can be accessed through the teacher log-ins.

We are currently recruiting school partners for the 2026-27 academic year. For any enquiries, please reach out via email (info@hkspi.co). Details of program packages will be provided to relevant school parties.
